How many times have you attended a wedding and while listening to the toast, thought to yourself, “Did he/she just say that?”  Here are some easy tips a bride and groom can share with the best man and maid of honor to help them prepare for the big speech.

  • It’s ok to write the speech down.
  • Keep it short! Understanding that this is a sentimental time for the toast-givers and the bride and groom, you will only have the attention of your guests for a short period of time, so keep it short and sweet.
  • Make it personal.
  • Don’t talk about the  bride’s and groom’s past hook-ups.
  • Keep to the toast-giving plan, don’t pass the microphone around to other guests.
  • Keep the drinking to a minimum prior to the toast.  You have the remainder of the event to whoop it up.
  • Exercise restraint.  Keep the raunchy details to yourself.

Cheers!
